WHAT IS YOGATHON
Yogathon is an amazing national yoga event that happens in 11 Canadian cities on the same day, to raise funds for the education of underprivileged children (www.careforchildren.ca).  Organized by the volunteers of Art of Living, this annual event brings together thousands of people to  “Rise for a Cause”   We will together do 108 Sun Salutations, and conclude with a Group Meditation.
WHERE & WHEN in 2014
August 16th
9:30 AM  (Registration opens 9:30am, Sun Salutations start at 10am, ending with a Group Meditation)
Victoria Park, London, ON.

Approximately 100 people attended and many donors helped make this event in London, ON, a success.

Adults and children did 108 Surya Namaskars (called Sun Salutations, in English), over a duration of 1.5 hrs, in tandem, on a beautiful weekend morning in London. This was an unique experience for all yoga enthusiasts young and old, with many of them being lifted by the group energy to be able to do something they never imagined they could – to repeat the Surya Namaskar  108 times, something they had never done before. The session was led by AOL teachers.

Art of Living Canada conducted this event simultaneously at 11 other cities across Canada. In London alone the event raised about $ 3000 to serve under-privileged children, so that they can attend school. All event proceeds support Care for Children, a charity program that provides education and educational infrastructure for children in underdeveloped countries.

Volunteers from Srishti helped at this event too. Art of Living London chapter was able to raise over $ 3000 in London, for a worthy cause at this event.
