Children tied Rakhis to Police Chief Pare , Deputy Chief  and Officers at the HQ, on the occasion of Rakshabandhan, this year, on August 23rd 2016.

Since 2011, volunteers of Srishti have been celebrating our timeless, ancient festival of Raksha bandhan, at the London Police Headqaurters.

Parents and children from the community joined in at the event to tie Rakhis to the Police Chief and Police Officers as a sign of our gratitude, our bond, our prayers and our best wishes for their safety, in return for the security they provide to us and the society.

The ceremony was led by Art of Living Foundation’s teacher Spencer Delisle lead the ceremony this year and explained the significance of the festival.

Children applied tika, offered mithai to the officers and tied Rakhis to each one of them. The children also got an opportunity to mingle and talk with the Police Officers.

This event has been a celebration, an outreach event and at the same time builds pride in the thoughtfulness of our celebration in the minds of our next generation.
